Moorit is an independent crochet magazine based in Scotland and run by Alyson Chu. Launched in 2021, it was imagined as an antidote to the dearth of print publications made especially for crocheters. Focussing on wearable, modern garments and accessories made in natural fibres, Moorit is a high-end craft magazine with true indie spirit.

Being in a country of dramatic landscapes and long dark winter nights, our location encourages us to embrace the warmth of wool. Scotland also serves as a wonderful backdrop and we draw design inspiration from the beautiful textures and colours of the nature and built environment surrounding us.
Issue 8.

All aboard! We're taking to the seas for Issue 8... listen to the snap of the sails and gulls keening overhead... feel rough rope slipping through your palms... taste the salt in the air. Our designers were inspired by tempestuous northern oceans as well as the calm, sunny seas of friendlier climes.

And for a change, this special edition of Moorit is focussed on menswear! But you'll still find our usual range of garments and accessories made in lovely natural fibres.

Issue 7.

Fables, myths, legends, folk and fairy tales of all kinds are all fodder for Issue 7.

We’ve had a flick through our storybooks and gathered inspiration from tales of misdeeds, enchantment and bravery. It could be the witch in the forest, creatures that go bump in the night, a fair maiden locked in a tower, or perhaps an enchanted doll.

So go on, we’ll spin you a tale and make some magic with a hook and some yarn!
